One of the highlights of the SkillsUSA National Conference is the different culinary arts competitions. As we visited this morning the students were just starting their day of baking. Most contestants were measuring out ingredients for whatever all they were being asked to make. Believe me, at the end of the day they make a whole bunch of stuff, all of which looks awesome. There wasn't much to see as we strolled around, but I did manage this shot.
We will see what tomorrow brings as my students are presenting their projects to the public all day, leaving me with time to stroll, and my camera battery is charging now!
Each day I am going to attempt to upload a photo to this space, and write about it. My purpose is twofold; to improve my photography skills and to improve my writing. As an educator I believe that I should practice what I preach. I ask my students to constantly improve their work and to reflect on it regularly, so why shouldn't I. Doing so in a public place holds me a little more accountable for doing it.
